One of the most interesting games of this round between two contenders for tittle or for Europa League place,more likely imo.

Rapid havent changed that much after the winter break and same problems are troubling the team,especially in defensive part of the game there are still big issues to be solved.Dead balls are always a problem,not to mention the flanks where both Helder and Bozovic are way too unreliable for a team that wants to fight for the tittle.For this game both CD Iordache and M.Constantin are injured,but now veteran Iencsi will play alongside Fernandes.The best combination on central defense that i have witnessed this season is Iencsi-Constantin,so basically even on the center might appear some problems.So this defense is prone to mistakes which means there are good chances for Unirea to score today.
If you check home statistic of Rapid you will see many high-scoring affairs,not many teams succeed in leaving Giulesti with points or with less than 2 goals received.That’s because of offensive play of Rapid and for this time,after the loss suffered at Iasi,a reaction is expected from the players,especially from Ionita,which had a bad game at Iasi.So certainly i’m expecting Rapid to score here.Rapid havent managed too many home clean sheets,in fact every team that came in Giulesti and put some pressure on our shaky defense has scored,only 3 teams havent succeeded doing that:U.Alba Iulia that simply came only to defend,with absolutely no offensive desire;International that had a men sent off in first half so basically they didnt stand a chance for that and finally Otelul,but you would want to know how many clear chances they have missed.

Unirea coming after Liverpool game,so with not a very good moral since they lost badly in second leg,and even bad news is that they lost cpt.and CD Galamaz which is like the soul of defensive scheme.Also in league,they lost first home game against tittle favorite CFR 0-1,after a bad game.Clearly loss of main coach,Petrescu,which built this team from zero,affected them and frankly this new israeli coach doesnt look like he can handle this team.Also no Varga and no Tibi Balan and that was felt offensively since they havent managed to look good and struggled but that was also cause they have met very solid teams with good organization of the game,which not the case with my beloved Rapid,that still plays a very poetic style of footy,receiving easy goals and scoring some beauties,a joy to watch but bad for results.
Statistically Unirea has some 0-0 away results,but at solid home teams,with phisical style of play (Brasov,Gazu’,Pandurii).Rapid doesnt belong to this category,since with crazy fans pushing you from behind you just cant play careful games.Rapid will want to bounce back and will throw himself into atack and this is exactly the kind of team that Unirea enjoys.They like to sit back and hit on counters,but seeing them against Pool they dont have the same organization of the game and so i won’t dare to back them here.
Like i said Rapid has problems at dead balls,doesnt have the players to defend properly at this kind of moments,and consequently they received many goals from dead balls:last round Iasi scored after a free kick and a scramble in our box,and also visitor teams that came to Giulesti havent had problems scoring after dead balls:Iasi did it,Vaslui did it,CFR also,Brasov goal also came after a cross from flank.I’m saying this cause Unirea has very good players in air,in fact this was main weapon of scoring in last championship,after free kicks.Also i’m saying this cause today referee like to whistle a lot,and with him at the center we lost only one home game so far,against CFR,when his performance was not at his best and gave a lot of easy free kicks for visitors.
