First game of series and both teams have qualified easier than expected. Sharks passed Red Wings in 5 games and Hawks are coming off a 6 games series versus Canucks. And one similar thing with both of these teams is that each scored more than their season averages. Evgeni Nabokov is a top netminder but his recent form doesn’t look reliable along with the rest of Sharks team. They gave away 17 goals against Red Wings who are not known as a fire-power offensive team. It might be a bit tougher to stop Chicago forwards who have produced 23 goals against Roberto Luongo out 6 games in series. As this is the first match of the series , home teams are mostly rated as favorits , but this is not a simpe hockey game,but a play-off game and many different factors effect the match result here. The more disciplined team,team with less mistakes usually win. Sharks offensive trio , Heatley,Thorton and Marleau are not as hot as they were in regular season but , just the opposite is for Chicago. Hossa is showing he’s the player of tough games at this level , Dusting Byfuglien has been the bonus player for Chicago and others : Versteeg , Kane , Sharp are all in their finest days of season. Chicago is one step ahead,i think. But slowing forwards of each may be really hard for another. Over 5,5,prices are a bit short but matches the risk from my point of view.
