These players have met once before, and Montanes got the better of the young ukraine in straight sets.

Although I admire Dolgopolov, i really think that he is under-manned here today against this much stronger opponent of Spain, who mind you is very dangerous on clay, beating Likes of Cilic, Baghdatis, and Federer, yes Federer, all in straight 2-0 sets.

Dolgopolov is a really good young players, but simply cannot match Montanes’ form.

Dolgopolovs current form states that 3 of the last 4 matches, losing to nadal, but losing to Santiago Ventura – who is a similar player to Montanes, and Jan Hajek.

All this being said, Montanes will progress in the fine form in which he is at the moment, and will have an easy round match up here.
