He has beaten them both times at home with a low 2.25 ERA and like him to play his part as Detroit looks to square the series in the fourth and last game of the series

Cahill is 3-2, with a 3.31 ERA and has pitched well in winning both of his last 2 starts against San Francisco and Baltimore. However he faces a much better line up here, and he did face Detroit last year where he allowed 7 runs on 7 hits in a 11-7 loss to them. Detroit’s batters scored 10 runs last night and they will be confident of scoring again, even though Cahill will not make it easy for them.

With Detroit having a much better record in the day time, where they are 17-8 as opposed to 9-15 at night, and Verlander has a very good record of a 2.23 ERA when pitching during the day last year, like the look of Detroit winning here
