What a great series we are being treated to in the NBA finals. First Boston take the initiative, winning game 2 in LA to grab homefield advantage. Then the Lakers bounce straight back with a win in Boston in game 3 before the Celtics take the next 2 to leave LA having to win the last 2 at home to take the title.

I love the fact that we can get on the team with all the momentum, with the bonus of 6.5 points, at pretty much even money. I really fancy the Celtics to be in this one as the last ball flies towards the bucket, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they ensured no 7th game was required.

They have really gelled together as a team, while no-one but Kobe is turning up for the Lakers and no matter how brilliant he is, even he can’t carry a franchise on his own.

As I wrote in the pick for game 5, 19 of the 25 teams who have won to go 3-2 up in Finals history, have gone on to lift the trophy, and I reckon Boston will make it 20 of 26.

The statman cometh:
Boston are 10-4 SU in their last 14 games and 5-2 SU & ATS in their last 7 road games. They are 4-2 SU in their last 6 against LA and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 at the Staples Center.

So we’ll take Boston, with the points as insurance, to ride the wave of momentum and at least keep this one close.
