ATP:Pere Riba vs Pablo Cuevas -by glimmers
Riba is another player who has been doing well on the challenger circuit, winning a tournament on clay in Poland last month. He’s poked his head up onto the World Tour for 10 matches this season, winning 3 of them, with all 3 wins coming on clay. I watched him play Michael Russell at Wimbledon this year on an outside court (I was virtually sat next to him!) and considering he was playing on a surface on which he had never won a match, he acquitted himself really well, going down in 4 sets, losing 2 of them in tie-breaks.
Cuevas is a decent doubles player who has won 7 of his 16 singles matches on clay this season. However, before his first round here, he had only won 1 of his previous 5 matches, all on clay, including one defeat against a player ranked 650 places below him, who was playing in his first and only tournament of the year.
I don’t see a lot between these players and therefore I feel the value is all with Riba.
Bet is 6 units on Pere Riba at 2.66.
Best of luck.
