NBA – NY Knicks v Portland

The New York Knicks come back home after a disappointing loss to the Celtics last night, where most of the team had nothing other than Amare Stoudemire who came up with 28 points.

The Blazers on the other hand have started the season well, going 2-0 after beating West coast rivals Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers, and will be looking to push themselves to be the first team to go 3-0 after this win against the Knicks.

Brandon Roy does what Brandon Roy does best, get the ball on the floor and score. Marcus Camby has been a great addition to the team, filling in for the injured Greg Oden, grabbing his staple 11 boards a game and along with Aldridge up front, it make their front court quite formidable, with Batum being able to shoot the 3s and even grabbing 9 boards in the game against Phoenix. Add the veteran experience of Andre Miller dishing out assists and grabbing steals, and you got a good combination of youth and experience ready to challenge for the West.

The Knicks have completed their re-building phase, although they would have liked to have added Carmelo Anthony to their lineup, will have to make do with what they have at the moment. Gallinari, Mozgov, Roger Mason and Ronny Turiaf, have failed to deliver for the team on the roles that they had been brought into the team. It is especially surprising for Gallinari, who was among Knicks best players last season along with David Lee, have not been able to get the best out of him this season so far.

The lineup of the Knicks would be able to play in D’Antoni’s run and gun system, but will need some time to settle in and get their act moving. Till that time, you can get on the Blazers Bandwagon as they aim to go 3-0 tonight.

NBA:New Orleans Hornets – Denver Nuggets

Hornets were really bad in pre-season but they put on totaly different performance in opening match against the Bucks. It seems like they were know what they are doing with signing with Aruza and Bellineli. Paul and West was good as always. Paul scoring 17 and disshing out 16 assists to his team-mates. many of those were send on West’s adress which knew how to convert them into points, scoring 22 with 9/14 shooting from the field. On the other side Denver easily beat Utah at home, but they are facing some problems. Andersen and Martin are out, which creates gap on PF position, and it will be interesting to see how they will try to stop West tonight. Also they have other problems , because Anthony is still thinking of moving to other team, and right now they are in big worries how they will keep their superstar.

NBA:Minnesota Timberwolves – Millwaukee Bucks

I was asking myself, how would be set the odds if Minnesota would manage to beat Sacramento by 1 point, and not lose it by 1 point. Im sure that in that case, odd would be lower by at least 0,40 on Timberwolves to win. That much, just because 1 basket! I think that is a clear value, but to be sure a took this great aditional spread at Bet365. Flynn and Webster are injured, but they have many players which can step in for them two. On the other side, Bucks are probably slightly stronger team, but match will be played in Minnesota + Bucks have few problems on SF position where Redd and Douglas-Roberts are out and Mbah a Moute is questionable. Like in Minnesota case they have players to cover for them so that wouldn’ be so big problem. in first match they’ve lost at Hornests in pretty close match, and they could find tmeselves in one tonight also. Let me remind you that they have played in pre-season few days ago and that Minnesota won by 1 point.

NBA:Raptors – Cavaliers

Cavs had a good match against Boston in their opener but Boston is old and slow and they were fired up in front of supporters. I dont expect such good offensive performance from them everyday but they seem solid defensively.

Raptors not with good performance against Knicks and imo not a very strong team this season. Jack, De Rozan, Kleiza, Evans, Bargnani they started the Knicks match with Barbosa, Calderon from bench. They rely now on Bargnani, Jack in offense and shot 38% against Knicks, when they lost 93-98 (191).

I expect another fast game in Toronto but with less points, as Cavs are at least as solid as Knicks defensively imo but weaker in offense.

NBA:Miami Heat – Orlando Magic

It’s just a begining of season,and value bet time hasn’t come yet. But even this evening I can find some good bets. Over in Miami game is one of them. Total line is quite low in my opinion. 186,5 points seems to be thin line to erase for those players. Orlando have no special pression on defensive end tonight, and on the other side we have Miami Heat with some fresh blood on board. LeBrone James and Chris Bosh play in Heat team now, so I expect a lot of ofensive action. Each one is star, no matter where they play, they want to shine. I think trio James-Bosh-Wade need more time to be unstopable, they’ve got potential but only if they play as a team not as a single star. Over 186,5 really worth a bet.

NBA:New Jersey Nets – Sacramento Kings

i was not impressed by Nets in first game against Pistons, eenthough they somehow won in the end. That was because of their streak 13-3 in last 2 minutes. Pistons are not that good team + they had problems with injuries and that is why I was suprised with thaat bad performance of the Nets. On the other side Kings won by point at Timberwolves without their star Tyreke Evans. Evans will play tonight and will be of great help to Udrih, Landry, Cousins and Garcia which were key men in Minnesota. They still have some reserves especially in Casppi. Key for the win will be in limiting star-duo Harris-Lopez, because Nets don’ have that wide roster and so many equal players in rotation like Kings have.

Croatia looks very weak this year .They played very bad in preparation stage where they loosed to france by 50 points.They don’t have real Centre and smaller player will play in that position.
Serbia plays with solid team:Luka Igrutinovic, Petar Lambic (both Hemofarm), Marko Gujanicic (Mladost, Cacak), Bogdan Bogdanovic (Zitko basket), Vukasin Petković, Bogic Vujosevic, Rados Seslija, Božo Dumic (all Novi Sad), Nemanja Bešović, Marko Josilo (both Partizan), Marko Lukovic (Mega Vizura), Nikola Silađi (FMP), Stefan Nastic (Kanada) i Dorđe Drenovac (Austrija).

So Serbians looks much better team and i expect them to win this match in double digits.

RUSSIA – FRANCE

This is the last round game of the second phase of the European U20 Championship for women Division A, which is held in Liepaja in Latvia.

Meet Russia and France. Both teams will go in the quarter finals together with Latvia. These three teams have score of three wins and one defeat. But the game is still important in terms of final placement in a group,and because of and because of the easier opponent in the quarter finals. Since the Latvia will play against Netherlands where the host is absolute favorit,it is obvious that Latvia will have a score of 4-1. And defeated team in game between France and Russia will only take third place in the group,so that team will have strong oponent in QF, probably Lithuania which will finished second in other group. That is reason why France-Russia is a very important match.

In this case my choice will be France. After some very bad games of Russian team (lost to Sweden in first phase,lost to Netherlands, not-so-easy win against a very weak Poland),I think that in clash with one of the favorites in this championship,Russia has no chance.

This is the game of European U20 Championship for women Division A, which is held in Liepaja in Latvia.
Sixteen teams were deployed in four groups. After three rounds played in the first stage of the competition, many things have become clearer in terms of quality of individual teams. The first three teams from groups A and B formed a new group E, while the top three teams from groups C and D formed a new group F. The four best teams from the new groups will participate in the quarter finals.

This is a very important match for both teams. In the first phase, each team had two wins and one defeat. And in the new group both will start with three points. So,the winner of this game will certainly be found in the quarter finals.
In my opinion it will be Latvia. Latvia has advantages because they are playing at home. Also in the first phase Latvia showed a much better form. Minimal loss to Russia, as well as two convincing victories,Sweden 87-41 and against Ukraine 90-61.
On the other hand,Poland had much easier group. They beat Bulgaria which is one of the weakest teams,only 50-40,and against Netherlands,Poland won 72-57. But against the only true opponent, France, they lost with amazing points difference, 80-31.
My pick for this match, Latvia (-13.5).
